About the event
Come along and join in this winter project to make your own shaggy rag rug.
Rag rugging is a traditional way of recycling scraps of cloth to make hard wearing mats.
The technique we will use is the ‘proddy’ method which is very easy.
You don’t need any skill in arts and crafts to get started with this rag rug.
There will be six rag rug sessions.
You can come along to one session and then continue at home, or you can come along each week to all six sessions. Bring your rag rug along each time to work on in the company of the group.
We will provide you with basic materials free of charge to get you started.
This is an initiative of the Hoy Makers Community Studio Project supported by Beach Gallery & made possible by the Scottish Government Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund
